FedEx API | FedEx Developer Portal Release Notes

We are pleased to announce our most recent enhancements to FedEx APIs and the FedEx Developer Portal. This release offers new FedEx API features and updates to enhance your customer experience.

List of enhancements included are:

FedEx API Enhancements

Trade Document Upload API
New endpoints provide the ability to upload multiple shipping documents in a single request. Also, supports base64-encoded document upload. Allows a maximum of five documents per transaction

Recipient Contact Details
FedEx is changing how we validate phone number information by improving our ability to validate whether the recipient's phone number is correct for the Convenient Delivery Option (CDO). Only available for shipments to Singapore.

FedEx International Deferred Freight (FDF)
FedEx International Deferred Freight (FDF) is a global air freight shipping service for international air freight shipments with extended delivery/transit times at economical rates. It also allows you to ship Heavyweight (HWT) and freight in a single shipment order. This service is available for select origin and destinations where FedEx International Economy Freight (IEF) service is available.

300 DPI Label Printing
The 300 DPI is becoming the standard option for the thermal printer as it guarantees a clearer and more accurate label and print quality that our Customers and their TP Logistics provider are using. Due to the fact the FedEx standard is 203 DPI, the customers need to apply a workaround spending time and money that day by day are not willing anymore to accommodate. Offering this option through our automation solution will increase their customer experience, the financial benefit for them and FedEx and the label printing performance will increase.

Dangerous Goods by Road
In Europe, customers can now ship Dangerous Goods (DG) by road in selected markets. The new DG surcharges will be present as part of Ship API, Rate API, Comprehensive Rates API, Service Availability API, and Open Ship API and displayed at the shipment level.
List of new service options in Europe: Standalone Lithium batteries, Lithium Metal, Lithium Ion, Genetically Modified Organisms and Microorganisms, Radioactive Material Excepted Package, Biological Substances Category B, Limited Quantity and Fully Regulated Dangerous Goods (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR)) and Dangerous Goods in Excepted Quantities.

FedEx Developer Portal Enhancements

Consolidation API
Consolidation API enables you to consolidate individual shipments for customs clearance at a single entry. After customs clearance, the shipment is broken into smaller shipments within the destination country to distribute to individual recipients. This API is beneficial for shippers who wish to consolidate their FedEx Express® and FedEx Ground® international shipments.
