Canada Domestic Ground weekend delivery enhancement
We’re excited to introduce a new enhancement that expands delivery capabilities for Canada Domestic Ground shipments. As part of our ongoing commitment to support evolving eCommerce needs, FedEx is enabling Weekend delivery for eligible residential shipments within Canada.
Feature highlights
- Saturday delivery commitment available for qualifying residential shipments based on origin, destination, transit time, and ship date
- Improved delivery visibility, with Saturday commit dates returned in API responses and tracking systems
- Automated service commitment, eliminating manual processes previously required for weekend delivery
- No changes to existing service types, as this enhancement builds on current Ground service functionality
What this means for you
- APIs will return Saturday as a valid delivery commitment date when eligibility criteria are met
- No integration changes are required—this enhancement is automatically supported in existing implementations
- No pricing or surcharge changes are introduced as part of this update
- Destination address must be set as "residential" to qualify for weekend delivery.
