Introducing FedEx Authenticated Delivery, a new premium service designed to enhance delivery security and protect your customers from doorstep fraud.
Now, you can select FedEx Authenticated Delivery for shipments within the U.S. and Canada. With this service, recipients will receive a unique QR code—delivered through FedEx notifications to the email address provided at shipment creation. The QR code must be scanned by the FedEx driver to complete the delivery.
What your customers can expect:
Simple, secure delivery: Recipients receive clear instructions and all required details through our automated FedEx notification channels. A valid recipient email address is required at shipment creation for each FedEx Authenticated Delivery shipment.
Enhanced protection: The recipient must be present at the delivery address to provide the driver with their unique QR code to receive the package.
Strict delivery controls: These shipments cannot be held at locations (No HAL), returned to sender (No RTH) or rerouted/adjusted (No address corrections), significantly reducing opportunities for fraud.
FedEx Authenticated Delivery gives your customers greater peace of mind—while ensuring you maintain full control over how these high-security shipments are handled.
Tracking shipments with FedEx Authenticated Delivery is not supported using Basic Integrated Visibility, formerly the Track API. Developers can use FedEx Advanced Integrated Visibility - Account Number Subscriptions to track these packages. Recipients and shippers can view these shipments through an authenticated FedEx.com experience.
For more information, see Special Services - FedEx Authenticated Delivery in the Ship API documentation.
