FedEx API | FedEx Developer Portal Release Notes
Your shipping experience just got easier with the latest FedEx API and Developer Portal enhancements. Here's what you need to know:
List of enhancements included are:
- Postal codes required for some EU shipments
Starting January 5, 2026, you'll need valid postal codes when shipping to or from Ireland, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Ukraine. This helps cut down on delays and misroutes.
- Smarter location search
When you choose Hold at Location (HAL) or Drop off (DAL), the API now shows only the FedEx spots that can actually handle your shipment. Freight goes to freight-ready facilities, parcels to parcel-ready ones.

- Oversized packages come with a fee
If your shipment larger than the max size, a surcharge now applies. The amount depends on the origin country and type of shipment. Be sure to check your service guide or contract for the details.
