FedEx APIs – New Quotas and Rate Limits on API requests Announcement


FedEx is introducing transaction quotas and rate limits for FedEx API. Every day, thousands of customer applications/solutions make requests to FedEx to perform Rating, Shipping, Tracking and other business specific operations via FedEx APIs. FedEx is introducing transaction quotas and rate limits to help manage these requests to ensure an equitable distribution of system resources and prevent abuse, overloading, and unauthorized access. This helps provide a reliable and scalable API integration experience that our customers and developer communities rely on.

The transaction quotas and rate limits cap the maximum number and frequency of API requests allowed from a customer application, within the defined time window.

Starting October 15th, all new FedEx API (Application Programming Interface) integrations will be subjected to transaction quotas and rate limits. Any existing projects set up in the FedEx Developer Portal prior to October 15th, will not be immediately impacted by this change. The quotas and rate limits are subject to change.
