FedEx API | FedEx Developer Portal Release Notes

We are pleased to announce our most recent enhancements to FedEx APIs and the FedEx Developer Portal. This release offers new FedEx API features and updates to enhance your customer experience.

List of enhancements included are:

  • FedEx introduces Streamlined pickup pricing
    FedEx Introduces Streamlined pickup pricing Effective August 18, 2025, FedEx will use a new pricing and rating structure to charge for parcel pickups occurring in the U.S. and Canada. The new rating structure will charge weekly for Regularly Scheduled (U.S. and Canada) and Automated pickups (U.S. only), regardless of the service type (i.e., FedEx expedited or standard service). On-call parcel pickups in the U.S. will be charged per-stop. Surcharges, discounts and waivers will be applicable to single on-call and weekly pickup charges.   • New types of pickup notifications
    FedEx customers will now receive additional pickup notifications via emails associated with their pickup orders for better visibility into various stages of a pickup workflow.

  • Introducing Saturday Premium Processing
    The existing package level Saturday Pickup surcharge is now repositioned as Saturday Premium Processing which will reflect the new changes in the rate and surcharges structure.

  • Postal code requirement for EU countries
    FedEx is always committed to providing the best possible service and optimizing processes to facilitate international shipping. Effective September 29, 2025, the correct postal code will be required and validated for shipments to/from: Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Slovenia.
