FedEx API | FedEx Developer Portal Release Notes
FedEx announces new enhancements and capabilities for the August 2022 version of FedEx API and FedEx Developer Portal.
FedEx is excited to announce new enhancements and capabilities for FedEx APIs and the FedEx Developer Portal. This release offers new FedEx API features and updates to enhance your shipping experience.
List of Enhancements included are:
Ship API - FedEx Ground Economy
- The master tracking number will be a 12-digit FedEx tracking number, instead of the USPS master tracking number that USPS uses. Customers will continue to receive a USPS tracking number and barcode string that USPS uses in the completed package details.
- It is recommended to use the FedEx tracking number to direct tracking inquiries to fedex.com. All invoicing details will continue to display USPS Tracking numbers used by USPS.
Applicable for U.S. shipments only.
Ship API - Canada Export Declaration
- FedEx API’s have been updated to meet the new Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) export declaration requirements for shipments valued at 2,000 CAD (Canadian Dollars) or greater and destined to any country other than the U.S., Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
